I am looking to upgrade from my old GTX660 and had a couple of things I wanted to check.

The main cards im considering are the RX470/480 & GTX1060 and my current system is:

Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 CPU
Gigabyte Z77-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard
8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11
Seasonic S12 600W PSU
MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC Twin Frozr 2048MB GDDR5
Using 1920x1200 resolution for games

Firstly, the RX470/480 both state on the store page that they require one 8 pin power connector (Where as the GTX1060 states one 6 pin connector). My PSU only has two 6 pin power connectors for the GPU, I assume this means that the RX470/480 are both out unless I get a new PSU? or are there adapters available?

Secondly, am I likely to have any issues with the above motherboard and the newer cards? (it is around 4 years old now)

Thirdly, I have seen several people mention that the 3gb GTX1060 arent really worth it, is that true in my case where it is still sizable upgrade from my GTX660 with 2gb?

Lastly, I want to aim for a card with quieter cooling. Is it generally correct that the cards with twin fans are quieter than those with single fans? Also which cards are recomended for their quietness? In the past I have had cards that sounded like someone put a hairdryer under my desk and would rather avoid it again ;)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give :)

My MSI Armor 1060 has a 8 pin connector not 6 so be sure to check the specific model.

It has two fans which do not even start spining until the card reaches around 58-60c and even then I cannot hear it. No coil whine either thank god, very quiet card.

My system is 5 years old, P67A 2500K 8GB DDR3 and no compatibility issue.
