Hello,
current sitting on the following (built in 2012)
- i5 3570k @ 4ghz
- 8GB ram
- corsair 550w PSU
- nvidia 660ti 2gb
I was considering either purchasing a ps4 or a GPU upgrade, especially with brexit likely to cause prices to rise (possible import tarrifs + further weakening of £ ), and have decided to go for a GPU upgrade. (i'd like to buy both, but its not within my budget)
This 660ti has served me very well across these 4 years without a hitch, and can still handle recent games at 1080p/50-60fps with reduced settings. So whatever graphics card I purchase next I hope will last 4 more years (for 1080p/60fps)
Budget is around £200. I would prefer to go under this if possible.
I am looking at either 1060 or 470/480, i'm not sure whether 3gb/4gb or 8gb would be appropriate. I have no plans to upgrade to 1440p monitor in the foreseeable future. I don't wish to change/upgrade the PSU either.
Warranty/service is also important this time, if there is any RMA needed I would like the peace of mind knowing the manufacturer has a good return time for any replacement/repair.
Is there cards/manufacturers that OCuk covers themselves (for the warranty period)? I know EVGA/Gigabyte have UK RMA bases which is a big draw for me, but how are the other manufactuer's service (ie Sapphire/XFX/Zotac etc)
