gpu upgrade but which one

hi looking for a bit more gpu bite.
Current spec
I5 4690k
evga 960 4gb ssc
8 gb ram
2x samsung evo 850 ssd
psu evga 750 gq

im looking at either a gtx 970 or r9 390 but cant make my mind up. I play at 1080p on a 60hz monitor and wanting to max out any game and future proof myself. The cards i have been looking at are

if the r9 is the way to go would my psu handle it with an overclock

wow thanks for all the input i will have a good read and look at some bench marks. i just want the best card for the cash and the r9 390 is on offer at the moment for far less than the gtx 970 thats the main reason for that choice.

Just been offered a evga 970 SC brand new sealed for £200 cash. Would I still have a warranty when I register it?

these cards any good at overclocking

went with geforce for the drivers mainly and seen the gtx 970 is faster at 1080p in most games
