Currently looking at upgrading my PC and wondering if a change of video card is worth while now there seem to be some alternatives on the market.

I currently game (Crysis, TF2, COH etc) in 1280x1024 however I may later this year buy a 22” widescreen LCD. My core pc spec is as follows:

Abit IP35 Pro Mobo
Intel C2D 6850 CPU
2 GB ram
Gainward 8800GT Video Card
Tagan 530W PSU
Windows Vista SP1

Not sure which card to go for if I upgrade monitor or do I really need to upgrade from the 8800GT?

2 x ATI 4850 (Mobo is crossfire capable)
1 x ATI 4870 (Would I be better off with just 1 card)
1 x Nvidia 9800 GTX+ (Seems very good value)

At that res, no

You wont see any difference at all

Edit: O and if you upgrade monitor get the 4870

The 4850 is slightly faster in general than the 9800GTX+, and the Gainward 4850 is also cheaper. Its likely the best value card you can get at the moment. If upgrading monitor id possibly look at the 4870 though due to the extra performance it gives.
