Soooo, I think it's time I upgraded my SLI'd EVGA GTX680's.
The question is, do I go for a 980TI now and accept that in a few months the new gen will be released and I will already be behind although in real terms not by much. Or wait a month to see what news comes out regarding the new GPU's.
From information I have read though, it looks as though I will be waiting till summer for the low/mid range new cards and probably well into next year for the flagship models. So the 980TI still has a good bit of life in it as it will perform almost the same as the low to mid next gen. Also there appears to be a lot of evidence to say the new gen will be aimed initially at note book gpu's and super computer - deep learning compute tasks. There is very little evidence that supports that this chip set will be miles ahead for gaming.
Decisions decisions...
