I have a X1800 and it is really starting to lag behind.

What would be a wise choice to get at around the £130 mark?

I have an E6300 on a Gigabyte DS3 motherboard... Is it worth while upgrading these?

I play mostly simulation FSX and Trainz.

Hmm still deciding between the two.. I am not really bothered about DX11 support but reduced power and heat are quite nice.

Though the 4890 does seem to add double figures on frame rate compared to 5770.

Hmmm!

To be honest there are not going to be any exclusive DX11 games in the next few years anyway, and especially if your'e not running Win 7, you might as well go for the extra power of the 4890 if the head and noise does not matter - and then next time you can just get a computer with a DX11 class GPU.

Having said that, the 5770 is significantly less power hungry and whisper quiet.

That CPU should be good for 3 to 3.3Ghz with a half decent cooler, coupled with a new graphics card as recommended above you will be good to go.
