Mostly due to my current GPU being far too noisy, I am looking for a change. Since my Palit GTX460 is a non-reference design the aftermarket cooler options are fairly limited and costly. I feel that if I have to shell out I may as well replace it.

I have managed to get very good deals on either PNY GeForce GTX 570 or the R6950 Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC. The MSI is about £20 cheaper and I am familiar with the brand. The PNY is more powerful but I have never used any of their products.

Does anyone have experience of either? Which should I go for?!?

Know nothing of pony products though they have been around a while, sell more in the Usa I think. The Msi card has a good rep and there coolers are generally accepted as the best.:)

I've not used either of those cards but the twin frozr III is an excellent cooler and since the card is a 6950 with 2gig ram you should be able to unlock it to a 6970 and increase performance to be greater than a 570.

Best double check everything I said though cause it's late and I'm tired heh.

Unlocking current 2GB 6950's is less likely these days:

The subtitle to that thread should be "or possibly not".
