Have a 2019 build as follows:

EVGA GeForce RTX 2070 Black Edition 8192MB PCI-Express Graphics Card
Intel Core I5 9600K Pre-Binned 5.0GHZ (COFFEE LAKE) Socket LGA1151 Processor OEM
Team Group Dark Pro "8Pack Edition" 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel
AOC AG352UCG6

Goes without saying it is long in the tooth, to be honest its always struggled with my ultrawide 3440x1440 setup (I wish I never bought ultrawide for gaming!) I'm getting less and less interested in games in my mid 30s however occasionally games do crop up I want to play (STALKER 2, MW2), a full build is just not justifiable given limited use and I'm considering just getting an Xbox X given what a bargain they seem in comparison to a £2k PC build these days

Is there a GPU I could upgrade to without causing all sorts of issues? Thinking 6700 or 3070. I know there's bottle neck calculators but don't trust them one bit.

Thanks

A card good enough to get great performance on that monitor is gonna cost a lot, and you'd want to wait for the next gen - but ultimately you already have a good card, it isn't worth upgrading.

The 6700 isn't much of an upgrade to a 2070, as said above I'd wait for the next gen (midrange will likely be first half of 2023).

Thanks Ill wait then. I did give the 2070 a nudge with MSI afterburner last night and it seems to have made enough difference to run something like MW2019 on max settings on what feels like it must be 60+fps. This is on 1440p ultrawide too which its not done before.

Personally I would sell the monitor and get a Freesync/Gsync 144hz+ 1440p monitor instead. When I was looking for a new monitor a few years ago I settled on a Dell 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync screen as I felt it was the right balance between performance and visuals. 4K and these ultra wide screens is all well and good but you need to spend much more on hardware to drive it and up until recently even the top end cards would struggle to return high fps on a these screens.
