Hello all - just a quickie, ive got a G80 chip 8800GTS 640mb GPU.

Question: what should i upgrade to for under £200? (Nvidia wise)

the rest of my spec is in the sig, oh and im running XP with a 19" ASUS Flatscreen jobbie

thanks again

If you want to change then either an 8800GTX or a 512mb 8800GTS (G92 core) is within your price range. However for a 19" monitor I'm not sure I'd be greatly bothered as you probably won't see a huge deal of difference.

couldnt tell you how these compare to the 8800gtx though, one would asume faster naturally

From what I've seen the answer is yes at lower resolutions but it has a narrower memory bus and less video Ram so it doesn't do so well at higher resolutions and would still be outclassed by the 8800GTX. This is just very general though and you'd need to check the benchmarks etc more closely if you were seriously thinking about changing.

it's a waste for a 19 inch, even if widescreen, as that card was more of a high-res card... I'm sure you could come close to maxing out crysis on at least high, and get playable frames...

Your current video card is fine. I would save the money and wait a few months and see what ATI and Nvidia shall bring out.
