Yo

So i currently have a single Sapphire 6970 (2GB) running at 950/1450

1920x1080 / 2560x1440 / 1920x1080 is my current resolution setup across 3 monitors.

BF3 on ultra is unplayable and it maxes out the vram. So my question is would a single 680 (2GB) or a single 7970 (3GB) be better? Also would i be limited on the ram side of things with the 680?

Thanks for any help

I may be wrong, but I think the problem for the 680 isn't so much the amount of memory it has, but more so the lower memory interface (256 bit). This is what tends to be its only downfall at the higher resolutions.

Consider a 7950. It'll overclock beyond a stock 7970 quite easily.

Agree with arc@css, though, I would say the 2gb vram isn't enough either on the 680, if buying today and keeping for a couple of years.
