So my 670's are getting beyond the point of usefulness now maxing their 2gb at 1080 in all sorts of games so after about 5 years its probably time for a change.

Bearing in mind everything is under water and I dont want to spend massive amounts would moving to a second hand single 980ti be a decent move of would I be better of dropping a few quid on a 1080? Looking to move to a single card solution to keep costs low

Also want to make sure but will my 3770k @ 4.5 be enough to drive current cards?

Cheers Guys

For 1080p a 1070 would suffice and offer better performance than the SLI configuration you currently have. If you have the extra money then go for the 1080 especially if you plan to upgrade to a 1440p G-SYNC monitor in the future. As for the CPU it shouldn't be a problem since it's amply overclocked.

Or even better, get more performance for the same money with a Vega 56 and also save yourself a further 150-200 quid by not having to pay the G-Sync premium should you decide to upgrade your monitor... A 1060 or RX580 would actually be ample for 1080p gaming just now - the next level up should give another 5 years though.

Also is a 1070 wich would run it at around 480-500 with a block that much better an upgrade over a 980ti at around 300? Or should I just say sod it as 500 quid over 5 years is cheap gaming.

Cards are so expensive these days. might be worth dropping the AA onmy games and run with the 670s till things settle

GTX 1070 have similar performance to 980ti, with never architecture you are getting lower power draw. I dont think I would pay £500 for GTX 1070 now, bought it mine in Feb for £340.For £500 you are in region of GTX 1080.

The £500 does include the cost of a waterblock 1080 with a block your looking at £600 1080ti £800. So a resonable cost jump, a 980ti can be had for around 300 with a block and yes older tech more power draw less vram and ofc it would be used so less warrenty and possibly less life left in it.

If you have dual 670s then you obviously don't mind SLI, so for what it's worth if your 670s are reference you could get a pair of used 970s and reuse the 670 blocks (reference 670/760/970 PCBs are the same).

Hell a single 970 would provide a noticeable improvement over two 670s.

Crazy money for a toy though. Im sure there are many people out there with that kind of disposable. Sadly however I'm not one of them
