Hi Guys,

Hoping I might get some advice on here.

I have recently purchased parts for a new build but I am unsure if I should wait for the new releases in 2018 or upgrade now.

The issue is I am still gaming on a MSI Twin 760 4GB OC. The card still performs admirably on 1080P though I am turning down settings a bit.

I am looking to make the jump to 1440P. I was going to pull the trigger on a 1070/1070TI/1080 but now i am uncertain. Any advice is welcome as I don't want to feel like I am wasting money in a few months.

New system specs;

Fractal Design Meshify C
Asus ROG B350F Strix
Ryzen 5 1600X
Team Group Vulcan DDR4 16gb 3000mhz
Samsung 250GB SSD
Seagate 1TB HDD
EVGA P2 750W PSU

Thanks

Very nice specs you have chosen with a nice balance. The only time I would wait is if something is imminent and I don't think there is.

I would buy any of those cards but most likely the 1080 if a deal could be found for 1440p.

The 1070 would be ok if priced low enough and your not looking for super high frame rates.

If you are going to go freesync then add the vega 56 to your list.

Just had a look at some Fractal Design Meshify C videos as it's the first time I have heard of it and it's beautiful.

Good choice. :D

Volta is meant to be releasing Q1 of 2018 which is why i'm a little apprehensive. Vega is in my mind too. The 1080 is topping my mind at the moment.

Thanks. The Meshify was an instant yes when I seen it. Such a nice case.

havent heard anything regarding volta being released Q1 - could be wrong but nvidia in such a strong position they dont really have to release it yet. specially after pascal shortage at launch, giving that little extra time would help :D
