what consideration do you have to take into account whilst upgrading GPU?

Motherboard?

CPU?

Currently running an intel i5 7500 quad core at 3.8Ghz on a mATX H110m S2H board with a gtx1060 6gb mini.

Due to the fact my board only only takes one card and the GPU doesn’t support SLI it would have to be a swap out but woul my system handle any upgrade? 1070,1080?

The fact that you have a fairly up to date system core means the only limiting factor would be your power supply - what do you currently have? That said you might get some bottle necking if you run at very high resolutions with a very powerful card if your cpu and ram can't keep up.

There's a sweet spot with most pc upgrades, finding it is the trick to get the best value from any upgrade. Assuming 1080p and at least 8gb of ram I'd say a 1070 or 1070ti would be about the most I'd go for, plus with a 1070ti you'd be able to upgrade to 1440p without many issues.

At the moment I have a EVGA 500w PSU.
I usually play at 1920x1080 to get the best FPS depending on games sometimes higher.
I have 16gb ram, highest my board will take also.
more for future upgrades and also the prices of GPU’s are nuts at the moment so if I see a deal I can snap it up. Looking forward to a few games coming out this year like Jurassic world and red dead redemption which I think might be graphics hungry!

I’m doing my CompTia certifications so I like to try find out everything about everything just for knowledge sake.

Yeah I’m not changing at the moment far to volatile just now this is just for future knowledge incase the prices start to drop or even if they start to go up it might be better getting in quick before they are totally in affordable. And incase have to factor in the other hardware changes I might have to make in order to upgrade.
Even the card I have just now was £150 when I bought I about 6 months ago is now going for around £350 it’s crazy!
