Gpu won’t post

So I have a high end gaming rig, I had a house fire and smoke damage through out the house, wasn’t any damage to the pc but insurance asked me to send it off to be checked as part of the claim, I sent my working pc to them

When it came back I plugged it all in and I get no signal on the monitor, the gpu which is a 3080 lights up and fans spin but don’t post, I’ve tried all connectors, reseating in the slot but nothing, when I remove it I can get it to post using onboard graffics

So then I thought ok I’ll take out the gpu and see if it works in my sons pc ( he has a 3060, so I put my gpu in his pc and same no signal, I thought ok gpu is dead

So then I removed the 3060gpu from my sons pc and tried it in my pc… surprisingly no signal!! So this as confused me as I assumed my gpu was faulty but then why does my sons not work in mine either?

Any ideas?

Was all secured, I’ve inspected for any damage or cracks and all seeems fine, even tried the second pcie slot that doesn’t work either it’s very strage

Yes all secured inside, gpu was removed when posted

Used igpu with GPU plugged in? If posts, see what GPUz says?

When any gpu mine or my sons is inserted in my pc it don’t post, when my gpu is in my sons pc it don’t post

i would try something like a bios reset, and probably not take anything else out from the pc
if the bios reset doesn't work i'd get back on the blower to the insurance company and getting them to sort something out, seeing as it's their mess (ie you sent a working computer at their request and now it's not working on return)
emphasise how it was at their request that the computer was sent, and i also wouldn't tell them you removed and tested parts as they may then try to blame you for it

Insurance payed me £2600 for pc but I want to keep using it was nothing wrong

There’s really nothing to show, i normally diagnose faults by trial an error I assumed my gpu wasn’t working as it didn’t work in 2nd pcbut then why work gpu don’t work in my pc is what’s thrown me unless both mono and gpu are faulty now but why woul both pcie slots be broken

I made a claim for a few electrical items, as some damage / cosmetic, was minimal but they payed out so all good, ill check the pays soon that seems plausible , sons pc is a pre built rig from a competitor of overclockers with crappy components tbf
