I don’t think so, doesn’t it pull the info for the cards from a database rather than the actual card in the system if that makes sense :p It’s the way I'm interpreting it.

Then why "detection"? It'd be rather pointless doing it the way you described. For a start, its obvious its reading the vendor ID and clockspeeds directly from the card.

Well yes how else would it get the bios Id, I should rephrase my post ideally, what I meant doesn’t the card info such as fill rate, bandwidth etc get loaded from a database?

No, it will work those out using the clockspeeds, bus width, etc.

Oh okay, I haven’t really followed this tool so wasn’t sure how it gets/reads the card info, I do now :p Ill give it a whirl, clock my card and see if it reads it correctly.

Maths ;)

(frequency * 2) * (interface width) \ 8 = memory bandwidth in MB\sec.

Edit: fixed.

Hmm, downloaded this and its telling me that the memory on my 8800GT BFG OC2 is running at 975Mhz, but the Memory should be running at 1950MHz, what gives??

Shows non-DDR speed. Which is what the module is physically clocked at. The DDR method uses both edges of the signal to transmit, so the DDR frequency is 1950Mhz.
