I have a CF7970 setup and Ive noticed in GPU-Z it shows PCI-E 3.0 X 16 @ X8 1.1, this doesnt change when benchmarking or putting the system under load, any ideas?

No not in the last couple of years, could this mean my GPUS are running in the speed GPU-Z surgests?
The cards should run @ 3.0 8x under load
1.1 8x is a pci-e interface downclock (or something to that effect)
dont forget sata controllers on some motherboards nick the PCIE bandwidth
What CPU are you running? PCIe 3.0 is dependant on CPU, SB for instance doesnt have pci-e 3.0
