Hi there

I'm aware there's quite a few students on here and I'm sure many will have already graduated. My OH is organising the graduation ball for her university's nursing year and I'm wondering if anyone can offer any suggestions on what items would be suitable to place in a goody bag?

We've already ordered miniatures (variety of spirits) also mini chocolate bars (Green and Blacks) and small congratulation bubble bottles (the type you blow bubbles with).

We're just needing suggestions for additional items that would be cheap and cheerful? There's 150 people attending and we're looking at approx £2.00 per person. Cakes have already been organised, it will be mainly women attending / graduating any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, I think because of the budget, you're going to need to make it look better than it is, so whatever is inside it will be down to mainly its presentation.

Some of this might be good, although you've probably looked at it already.

I think the idea of personalized things to do with the graduation/course would go down well, I'd rather have something as a reminder, rather than all consumables.

Thanks for the link - some good suggestions on there. The idea of personalizing items as you've suggested should go down well, things like having specialized labels drawn up (with the uni name and year of graduation) and adding them onto the miniature bottles of :)spirits

Hmmm - serious suggestions on a postcard please :p

As stated the budget is around the £2.00 mark though this is flexible as there's around £800.00 spare after everything else is payed for.

We all got given them when we first arrived at uni. Very annoying for the first few nights in halls.

You lot got graduation goody bags? :(

How about a pair of those big plastic glasses that seem to be popular at the moment? We had then given away at our summer ball and I know a few friends that nicked about half a dozen each to use them for the rest of the year... Everyone wearing the glasses looked comical that night though.

EDIT: A mix of http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/White-plastic...pt=Women_s_Accessories_UK&hash=item439fb93601 those and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/JOB-LOT-SET-7...m&pt=UK_WSJL_Wholesale_GL&hash=item519363b4c6 that sort of thing. Reckon you could get a big box of a couple of hundred for cheap.

Hi there

Thanks for the previous ideas guys - we're only 5 weeks away from the Graduation Ball and so far we've made up these graduation goody bags:

With these contents:

That includes a lottery scratch card (inside the black envelope,) a small selection of Green and Blacks chocolates, a selection of party poppers, a small bottle of Cava and the champagne bottle for blowing bubbles.

Just thought I'd post first of all to ask your opinions and secondly to say we've still got around £140.00 left over and are still looking for something else that would fit in the bag. We were considering these, your thoughts and any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't go with sky lanterns. We had some at my mum's 50th birthday party and tbh, they were rubbish. Have to hold them forever while they get enough hot air in to actually lift off, can't use them if they're windy....

Rest of it looks great though. Like the scratchcard idea :)

Can you approach companies who supply goods / services for the nursing sector and see if they will supply some freebies in return for free publicity?
Eg P&G / Unilever & many others contribute to events by supplying free stuff to give away - you could approach them too.

Thanks for the advice there - this is why it's good to ask opinions on here having no experience of Sky Lanterns ourselves and given the time of year this event is being held I think we can save some money here by not purchasing these.

Never would have thought to try that - thank you.

My OH is emailing half a dozen companies that were throwing away free stuff at students during threshers week in an attempt to provide some free publicity for them :)
