So I'm about to stomp 2 inactive members: Stormrider(OcUK) & Sphen, but before the weekend Elston & Beenom will dump me right back to cell 88.
Then by Xmas I will stomp Corran to the accompanyment of JoeyJoJo thundering up behind to put me back in 88 again :( For my birthday blitz2163 is going to evict me to 89. Even with -advmethods back on & more ppd I'm going backwards
[Puts thinking cap on & goes off to sulk in a corner]

That's a very nice idea VeNT: a C2D X6800 or QX6700 should do nicely:D

I do have my brother's old P3 (500MHz?) & my old Barton 2800 which I had running @ 12.5 x 200 [stock 12.5 x 166] but needs a case & I've been wondering how to get it connected to my router. Wireless seems to the way to go but networking is like a foreign language to me & I'd have to use Linux rather than try 98SE. Then I'd toyed with the idea of an Opty 165 but would need a PCi-e graphics card.
It's a bit like the puzzle wher you had to ferry a fox, chicken & bang of corn across the river but the boat would only take 1 at a time. I'm not sure where to start.

Thanks for the breathing space.
Does yr dad go round switching off the lights?
Mine still insists on unplugging the TV at night & won't use the phone in a thunderstorm.

Pilgrim57, afraid i've got more bad news for you, theres a couple of high producers (light brown) in feriso and marktime from page 2 who will probably catch you pretty soon aswell.

And before too long FoxtrotTangoWhisky & Ken1307 with your goodself just before Valentine's Day on current production:(

See this for my contribution inc the time before I discovered Team 10 when I was folding with the Barton & most of the time it was not overclocked.

It's a Dell P4 2.8 512ram on 24/7. How does that compare against your rig spec?

My current setup is A64 4600 with a novice, unmethodical o/c from 2400 to 2600 with 1G Corsair 3200 DDR running at 220MHz on 2.8volts.
I'm only folding on 1 core as still doing a bit of SETI & trying to finish another climate change unit [which seem to get errors & fail before completion].
In the New Year will stop SETI & most likely climate change so will fold on 2nd core.

Guess it just comes down to why you fold? The team and the science are good enough reasons for me irrelevant of output.
I fold because it is more likely to provide a better result than SETI ever will.
After being impressed with the jumps from Barton to A64, technology has made a quantum leap with C2D eg. o/c 1495 4 mins me o/c 14 mins. I can't afford an upgrade to X1900 to fold on that at present which would help a lot more than getting one of the old chips going.

Thanks for the input: Unfortunately I can't view yr link in the freecycle sticky as I haven't made enough posts to get access priviledges:(

 how did u know thats exactly what hes like lol

Educated guess based on probabilities. It's a father's perogative to complain everytime a bill arrives & fodder of family comedies. I suppose it was more common in the days before energy saving bulbs.

I knew a chap who moaned that his teenage daughter used 3 large towels everytime she had a bath: 1 to stand on, 1 to dry herself & 1 for her hair. Wouldn't reuse them, went straight in the laundry basket. Often bathed twice a day esp. if going out. He was frustrated that it was so hard to find a towel when he wanted one. Family foibles - that make Christmas special:)

Doh! I've got 1100 odd points to be dumped tomorrow, which will only just put me ahead, providing you don't dump any more.

I'll be dumping a lovely 1495 - 364pts @ 11 o'clock tonight:D
A breif respite as I think cell 86 is a temporary residence.:(

Good luck with the move, have the kettle, teapot & tea handy & I hope you have made a backup.
