Hay. Bit random , but I'm after the box for a 2070 super gigabyte GPU. I'm taking one out of my pc and just want to store it properly. There's non on the bay . Anyone point me to where I might get one. Thanks.

So you're saying you don't have a loft full of boxes from every piece of hardware you've bought in the last 20 years?... Just me?... Okay then, ill just leave and go back to my hoarding

I defo do. I save boxes and all the bits for everything.. which is why it's so annoying I don't have this one. Through no fault of my own..
I got into PCs for my kids and this was my eldest lads 1st one. It was a custom build and even though I asked many times to send all the boxes, the GPU box never got to me. . I knew the day would come when he upgraded, and now the missing box has come back to haunt me and brought back a lot of emotions. .

Gfx card prices appear to be on a slight decline so I would cash in now and then if you needed another card in a year's time it would probably be cheaper by then or an alternative comes along.
Going rate looks to be about £450 which is a lot of money to have tied up in something you aren't using.

If you really ended up needing another card you could buy a 6600XT brand new for that which is pretty close in terms of performance and would mean full warranty again. I did something similar where I sold a 1070ti last year and then just bought a RX6600 to use in a second system for my son, I could have just sat on the 1070ti but having the cash in the bank gives you the flexibility.

Good point. This all came about as I managed to get a 3080. I could just swop it for the 2070s but to get the most out of it I'd have to upgrade a few things.
I was just going to use it while I saved. Upgrade parts whenever I could and keep all the spares.. but if I was to sell the 2070s would I not be better just selling the PC and building another. Current set up is below. And I'd literally have what ever cash id get for it to spend on then rest of the components.

3700x
Gigabyte 2070 super
Corsair h100i AiO
Rog Strix b450 gaming-f
Corsair vengeance 2x 8Gb 3600
Corsair MP510 1tb NVME
2tb Seagate HHD
Corsair 750w silver PSU
Corsair 220t case.

I'd just use the 3080 in that system, don't see the point in selling it because unless you are gaming at low resolution the gains from an upgrade won't be that big.

I would cash the GPU, keep the 3080 and only consider upgrade the system later on, and only if bottlenecks the GPU gaming, not benchmarks, because on tests, always something is going to bottleneck something.
I wouldn’t bother upgrading anything this year. Got a 3900x, was tempted with a 5800x, but the 6800XT performs fine.
I think we are in about the same dilemma. I’m willing to wait for the 3D cache ones or even upgrade the whole system. A 5000 series Ryzen is also an option, but won’t be doing it now.

Used prices are dropping. Sell the 2070 Super for £450 while you still can. Then if the time comes that you need to buy a 2070 Super, they could be as low as £350 or £300 in an auction.

It's a false economy to hold on to a depreciating asset for future use.
