I would like to know how come the ATI 5770 has higher core clock speeds and higher memory clock speeds than the ATI 5850 and is much cheaper? Is the 5850 still better and if yes in what way?

the 5850 has 80% more shader cores (1440 vs 800 in the 5770), amongst other things. thats why the 5850 is a lot more expensive and a lot faster also

the 5850 clearly beats the 5770 so the cores does actually make huge difference...I ll go for the 5850 then
