Right, I've got £227 to come in a few weeks. I was aiming for the 770 but the money I was getting isn't what I expected. I can:
A) Get a 7870 and PSU now.
B) Wait a Month or so and get a 7950 and PSU
C) Wait a few months and get a 770 and PSU
D) Wait a month or so and get the £259 KFA OC 670 and PSU.

I don't know a thing about AMD, but I like the prices, no idea how the 7950 compares to the 670 etc, or the 7870 or how good it is for 1080p gaming. 40-50fps is fine by me.

7950 gives the most performance for your money and can be had for not much more than £200.

7950 is similar performance to 670 but £50 cheaper.

7950 seems like the best bet, tied with the KFA2. Would a 600w PSU suffice for an i7 2600, IPISB CH2 Motherboard (it's a prebuilt i know.. upgrading is a pain) and 8GB RAM?

Current card is a GT 545 and need something with more oomph.

Any trustworthy brand 600W or even 500W will easily be able to run a 2600k + 7950 based system.

What current power supply are you using (brand/size)? Does it have the necessary 6-Pin/8-Pin connectors to power a high-end graphics card?
