So I just installed Gigabyte GTX980 G1 and it isn't perfectly perpendicular to the motherboard. It looks like the front/front right corner goes a bit down (just a little bit)..

Is it expected?

Yep.

Yes it is because of the weight of the card.. Is there something to do with it, or this is perfectly normal and I shouldn't be worried?

Thanks

This can indeed happen with aftermarket cooled cards. It's not a big problem tbh. Sometimes routing the power cables can help pull it up a bit.

My GTX460 has been like that for 3-4 years without a problem, including at least 10 hours of bouncing around in a car...don't sweat it.

If it's like the Windforce oc be careful using pressure on the power cables to straighten it. The heatsink has about 1/16th inch clearance from the bare metal pins of the pcie inputs. Shorting them is definately a risk. Odd design in a way!

It's just a common case of GPU sagging, every heavier card suffers from this unless it's propped up with something. I wouldn't worry about it too much if it doesn't sag terribly.

Yea its normal to have some sagging but don't worry unless it looks like its really sagging. If it bothers you too much then you can do some DIY modding to sort it. For example i once used some thin low weight fishing wire to pull the card up and tied it to my HDD cage. Sorted the sagging and you couldn't see the wire unless you knew it was there.

It will be fine :) I had a triple slot 570 which sagged so much I was afraid it would rip the slot off! So I propped it up. A slight sag is nothing to worry about. :)
