hello

I have a gygabite UD5 m/b running with a poworcolor 4870 X2, I would like to get a second graphic card to run a crossfire setup but my problem is that the powerclor 4870 X2 is out of stock everywhere.
I would like to now if it's posible to get another brand of 4870 X2 and what card as the best chance to work with the power color.

Thanking you in advance for your help

4870X2 crossfire is a waste of money really.

You'd get a larger performance boost waiting for the 5850s and crossfiring two of them.

Yep, definately wait and see what ATI is about to bring to the table, better still it will mean price drops in current gen cards ;)

only thing is ...do the ud5 support gddr6, retail price for dx11 g/cwill be around : 450€-600€, as my power color 4870X2 is new i will save a bit of £ staying on dx 10/10.1, but i need to know what kind of card i can use with the powr color 4870 X2...

Direct X is software and is only limited by the OS (No DX10 support on XP for e.g). Also the type, amount and speed of the graphics card's RAM doesn't have any compatibility issues providing you meet the power and PCI-E requirements for the card itself. You can run a card with GDDR5 and have DDR2 system RAM ;)
