Looking to buy a new graphic card soon.

Just wondering if anyone knows of a good graphics card comparison websites so i can compare card performance etc.

The 69501gb is faster than the 2gb version.

A HD 5970 is 2 slightly downclocked HD 5870 GPU's on one card

A HD 6950 is a single GPU that's why the HD 5970 is better.

The closest comparison to a HD 5970 would be a HD 6990 or a pair of HD 6950's or HD 6970's.

No surprising really? The 5970 is dual GPU and the 6970 is the single GPU 5870 replacement, albeit daftly named

The 69501gb is faster than the 2gb version.

The 1GB version came out after, probably newer optimised drivers causing the difference. The extra VRAM will only come into it if the upper limits of 1GB are reached too
