I have the following problem:

When I turn the computer on, the BIOS Logo screen comes up fine then there's loads of small white stripes across the screen, see pic below. The machine can boot in windows safe mode but not in standard mode. I've tried another monitor but it's still the same.

Any ideas?

without the drivers windows loads in normal mode yes but the white stripes is still across the POST screen text and windows load screen.

PC Specs:
Intel Q9450
MSI P35 Platinum
2x2gb Corsair dominator 8500
BFG 9800gx2
Latest Bios and Graphic card drivers.
Vista Ultimate 64bit

It's fine with a different graphic card, do you guys reckon the card might be faulty?

fair chance if another card works fine.

take it you havent overclocked the one u're getting problems with or done a bios flash on it ?

I'd agree, stuff like that is usualy faulty vram (reapeated artifacts) especially if its doing it before the drivers even loaded. E.g windows loading screen

Pretty sure a faulty monitor or faulty monitor cable would't cause that, u overclocked it much?

okay received a replacement yesterday and everything is up and running again. I've installed Crysis (seeing that it's the benchmark these days) and it's not running as smooth as I hoped.

Even when AA is off it's still not smooth when the rest of the settings is High. I'm playing it on a 22".

Any ideas? Everything is set at default at the moment.

Im not sure that crysis scales to well for SLI ( which is what your 9800GX2 is ) and if youre running in High @ 1680x1050 then id imagine it will be a bit choppy tbh. Try turning some stuff to medium
