I'm looking to buy a customised laptop where I will choose the parts that goes in it which will be used for designing graphics and using software such as AutoCAD, 3D Max and Photoshop but I have some questions that I want to ask beforehand,

1. Should I go with i5 or i7?

2. Will the onboard HD 4600 be powerful enough to handle and render graphics?

3. 8GB or 16GB RAM and also single or dual channel?

Hi Casterina

Software packages such as AutoCAD, 3D Max, Maya etc benefit from using Nvidia Quadro for rendering and CAD work. Onboard will not cut it. Quadro uses a different set of drivers that are optimised for the software packages you have mentioned.

OcUK offer our range of ISV Certified (Basically means AutoCAD and the other software vendors certify our laptops to be used with their software) Our current range can be found here

There are some new products coming very soon to OcUK as well. Any questions, drop me a line in this thread

Will GT 940M or GTX 950M work?
