Graphic Designer or Web Designer?

I agree but I guess my boss would rather something take longer than have to pay someone else too.
My boss was the same too, but the example I gave him at the time was something along the lines of:

An average site with around 4 templates to be sliced would take us around a day (8 hours) to do. At our quoting rate this is about £700.
Outsourcing meant we could have it done for £100, to AAA compliance level and IE5.5 compatible.

So not only would it save us £600, but it's also a day which can be better used on developing the back-end of the site.

I work for a recruitment software company so it's mostly coding and not much design work going on. At least no where near design agency levels.

I understand with agency work the design work can be a much higher portion of the total work than with the backoffice projects I work on for example. I don't think I've ever made a static website!
