Right fellas,having done plenty of formats for windows,i am currently finished my latest format win 7 64 bit,got my motherboard drivers and such installed no problem,getting all my latest win updates,now i have read that you must install sp1 before installing any graphic drivers which i am doing,so got all my win updates,as of now i am just waiting to install the graphic drivers 11.8 for my 5870 card,now when i do this install after reboot all i get is the desktop wallpaper and nothing else,no taskbar,icons nothing,not even a mouse pointer,i have left it for a bit and nothing it just hangs there,has anybody got a solution to fix this driver install problem,i have never encounted this problem before doing a new install.

,yes i had 42" tv through a hdmi port on card lol,it really didnt occir to me to try that,what a gonk i am,at least i know its not my card that has died,cheers mate another lesson learnt in pc's lol
