hi have a Gigabyte Z77X-UP4 TH Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) i was takeing the graphic out and did not release the card right and the black connecter came out of the board with the card as i have a sli connecter on the board can use it for my graphic card

Do you mean the black plastic piece came off the end of your PCI-E slot when you removed your graphics card? If so, this is just a clip to help hold your graphics card in place and the PC will work absolutely fine without it.

If you mean something else, we're going to need more info and possibly diagrams! :D

This should be the OCUK Top Tip of the day

If I was in Game of thrones this would be my house motto :p

Seriously though if its the "grill" type slot on the rear of the case next to the ports on the back of your graphics card its fine but if its the connector (pci-e slot) that was connected to the motherboard with the little clip you need to push down to release the GPU........Oooopps :(

Going by the colour scheme of that board I think he means the top PCE x16 slot, oh dear… :o

If it's now broken then use the 2nd PCI Express slot which runs at x8 to see if the boards still ok.

Don't worry, just run a Pritt stick along the bottom of the connector and put it back on the board, all will be fine (you have to leave it 10 minutes to set before using the board again).

+1 for pritt stick although marzipan does the same job but takes longer to set. Got my temps down 40 degrees on my 4770k using marzipan as well. A good all rounder! :D

just shove the card back in and it'll still work. if it's the clip that you broke off only and not the whole pci-e slot :)
