Graphic problem?

Hi, i started my computer up this morning, it started fine then suddenly lines appeared on the screen and it became distorted. I rebooted but problem persisted, after many tries it now fails to load windows (pic below shows 'lines').

I think the problem is motherboard or graphics card related. The comp is four years old and the only problem I've had before this was the psu needed replacing 1.5 years ago.

The mother board is Asus K8V-X
The graphics card is Nvidia Geforce 6800 LE

Anyone know what it could be?

Looks like a memory issue on the graphics card. I get the same thing when I overclock my memory too far. If its overclocked, try setting it back to stock, if its not, better cooling may help, but TBH I think you have a dead graphics card

I appreciate the fast replies and thank you for confirming my suspicions. I'll go ahead and replace it with a 7 series. Thanks again.
