Graphic upgrade question

So with upgrades looming i need some help with graphics...

I planning to upgrade to I5 sandybridge with a MSI motherboard(some say MSI are rubbish and i should buy asus.who knows) so i need a graphic card to go with this upgrade.

Im down to either 6870, or a GTX 560Ti, though i have heard 6950 might also be a option.

what res monitor do you have? if its 1080p+ then the 2gb 6950 will be the best option.

motherboardwise I'd say asus
or if you want a bit of future proofing the asrock extreme4 gen3 tho msi also do gen3 motherboards(pci-e 3.0) don't get confused with b3.

dont really want to spend a fortune so i think 6950 2gb overkill

my monitor is a old CRT but i cannot find a better moniter atm which isnt costing more than £450+ so im sticking with it.

its res is 1600x1200 max, though atm i play at 1280x1024

the 2gb 6950 is £30 more than the cheapest of the 3 from your links and £10 more than the 1gb version. not exactly a fortune.

but in the end its upto you, I've made a suggestion if you don't want to take it fair enough.

after having issues with my ATI card im thinking about going down the nvidia road.

how is the 560Ti compare to the 6870 1gb and the 6950 2gb?

Its in between the 6870 and 6950. Overall, the 6950 is a bit faster.
