graphical issues on all my games with my gtx 680!!

the only updates I know of for the monitor was included in windows updates

Hmmmmm.. You mean Windows Downdate?

Every time updates install on my desktop they install a generic driver to my wireless dongle and completely break it. I keep having to roll back to the driver I put on from the CD..

I would try rolling back the driver dude. If the driver it's put on contains the wrong info then it will force the wrong refresh rates and all sorts.

haha downdate! I'll find disc and see what happens

I would dude yeah. I mean seriously I can't say enough how much Windows 'Update' annoys me. Every time it downloads updates it breaks my wireless card, as well as my Razer Boomslang. I really don't understand why Microsoft make themselves busy on things that don't concern them.

With my wireless card it installs a generic wireless driver and replaces my Ralink one FFS.

what 3rd party software was it exactly?

Randeon Pro, its like an upgraded version of CCC which allows forced Vsync and stuff, i dunno why its not official from AMD yet as Nvidia have it in their control panel :\

But yeah it helps you fix a lot of Vsync problems with games and force it for games that dont have Vsync which stops the card going mental with 5k+ FPS

is it adaptive v-sync on the nvidia control panel ?

I can't believe nobody has told the OP to uninstall that diabolical excuse for a driver and to install 306.23.

There is pages and pages of people having issues with any of the 310.xx drivers.

Give that a try and see if it improves.

Do a clean install also.

I was getting brief freezes with 310.xx drivers

Ive tried a old graphics card a gtx 220 and the same thing is happening on fallout 3 I tried that game because I know It can handle fallout 3 ok.

what could the issue be now? I just cant find the source of this issue!

I assume you tried the older drivers?

If you did, it could pay to go back to basics. Take the Overclock off your CPU and run everything at stock. Make sure you are virus free (just in case). Try another PCI-E slot. Run Memtest86+

A few things to try and failing that, I would go for a clean install of windows. A pain but sometimes that can be the quickest way.

I had the same problem with my 7970 when i first got it.I found forcing vsync with d3d overider worked for me.Also, but can't quite remember if it's the same fault (may just be stuttering) the skyrim engine has a problem running 60fps on my 60hz monitor.I have to frame limit it to 58fps.

I've also had the screen tearing issue but enabling V-SYNC in game always fixes it... and I've disabled hyperthreading in my BIOS. A lot of folks claim better gaming performance with it disabled.

How's it running after disabling HT?

I'd be worried about driver conflicts when testing between ATI and NVidia VGAs, sometimes they don't uninstall clean. Do you have an image of your SSD/HDD to restore and test?

I've done clean instal of os and only installed win7 important and critical updates an held back on generic win7 gfx card updates, I'm still pretty new on the pc gaming scene so it's hard to understand what certain things do! Not tried turning off Ht in bios yet since this new instal, I'm not sure wether I will need it off or on in my overclock!

I've run mem test86+ and that was fine
