Graphically intensive games over next 12months.

Just feels like gaming in general has gone stale, particularly pc, I can't think of anything on pc off the top of my head that I will be remotely interested in purchasing. This is not a 'PC gaming is dying thread' before anyone tries to accuse it of being! haha. Just what I feel currently about the state of pc gaming and gaming in general. Maybe I'm just bored of computergames?

Some cracking looking games due out this year, for console anyway not too sure about PC, nothing really interests me on it and I'm sad to say that. (exclusive wise)

Yeah, there's nothing I can think of tbh, other than Alan Wake. I think big exclusives like Crysis are a thing of the past :(

Modern Warfare 2 should look alright, but if it's based on the COD4 engine it won't be anything mind-blowing. Screenshots of Duke Nukem Forever look quite nice, but we all know that game will probably never get released :(

Red Faction Guerilla looks fairly tasty:

I guess the consoles are gimping the PC now; when the next gen launch in a couple of years things will be better.

really hope it does come out this year, have been waiting for that since the first DX10 screenshots!

Alan Wake, Duke Nukem Forever. Do you think these games even exist or is it just one big conspiracy?! haha.
Not looking too great then when the only game over the next 12months worthy of mention in this thread is one that will probably never see the light of day.

All this Waking is geting boring!

Thing about Alan Wake, all this hoo-haw about the graphics engine and blah blah blah, but nothing about the game itself, how it plays, if it's even going to be enjoyable.

From what I have seen, impressive graphics/physics aside, the game looks to be a bore-off.

Will Alan Wake actually be any good? Or, utter let down?

I hope it is decent, but im guessing every small problem will blown up because of the time its been in development.

The thing is for me personally though, the whole point of me buying games for my PC over my xbox360 is that of better graphics (keeping the controller-kbm debate aside)
If the PC is not releasing games where the graphics are considerably better than my xbox360 then I cant see the point in bothering with PC anymore.

Lets face it, the PC's trump card for it's use as a format for gaming is it's much superior visuals (mmorpg and strategy aside), if there are no games on the horizon with superior graphics then it's losing one of it's key attributes as a platform.
Thats my view on it anyway.

I thought Crysis was part of a trilogy, so maybe a new one soon? I know Crysis is hated or loved, but I loved it!

Crysis... STALKER... Far Cry 2... tons of hype and then... meh. I think it is going to be the same for Alan Wake.

To be honest I find some of the views on this forum in relation to Crysis quite baffling.
Surely better to have a game like Crysis, which if not perfect is still pretty damn good (bar the Aliens), than what we have now which is nothing (within the genre) I recently played through Crysis again on Delta (up to the aliens) and it is pretty damn good. What would you all need your latest gfx cards for if it weren't for Crysis?
Hopefully there will be a third part, though I doubt it will be pc exclusive so it will be dumbed down even more than Warhead was. (texture pop up is shocking)

Can't wait for Mafia 2 and COD 6 :)

Not a very extensive list.

Only games I'm vaguely interested in purchasing this year are Virtuatennis2009 (360) fightnightround4 (360) Bioshock2 (pc probably) and Modernwarfare2 (pc probably) I will probably be most looking forward to Bioshock2 as I really like the first one. Cant foresee anything mind-blowingly good with any of those though. Maybe a few more titles which rear their heads at me.
