Graphics 1 2 or 4 cards

Hi all, my weakspot when it comes to computers is graphics cards...

I have my new build,

Asus Rampage IV Extreme
Intel Core i7-3960X 3.30GHz (Sandybridge-E) Socket LGA2011
G.Skill RipJawsZ 32GB (8x4GB) DDR3 PC3-14900C9 1866MHz
Coolermaster HAF X case
EK-KIT H3O - Supreme LT 360 water cooling kit
2 x G.Skill Turbulence II Memory Cooler


I want Nvidia

my budget for graphics is around £500
Whats the best way to spend that?

on 1 580x
on 2 570x
or on 4 560x

yeah 1080p

ive looked on ebay cant find any second hand ones,

would want them to last me 3ish years, but i suppose its unlikely even with 4 580s lol

will keep an eye for second hand ones,

now what should i look for in the specs? Sorry im a ***...

Did you buy it all from OcUK, also why no 2560x1440 or above monitor, seems a waste to play a 1080p

my current monitor only does 1080, thats the next thing on the list...

thanks for all the advice and input, I will wait to see the new cards. as said previously I need to save up anyway.
With any luck ATI card will drop in price once the new Nvidia cards are out, so might go for one of them instead, we will see anyway.

Will post here again when I have the cash to double check im getting something decent.

I'd say go for just one GTX 580 instead of four. And with the money left over buy a Lamborghini Gallardo.

just to clear things up... i was never going for 4 580's it was either

1 580
or
2 570
or
4 560

so would have all cost around £500 in total

are you planning on a buildlog at all?

graphics card wise , if i was buying today....i would go with the ati Hd7970
