7. Case - A standard black one

What can I improve on, I've got a 1280x1024(max) screen.

It's either a monitor or card, buy one then the other at another time :) Radeon HD 7850 as suggested would be the choice ;)

Hmm, this is pretty hard. I mean 7850 would be overkill for my 17' 1280x1024 monitor. I mean I really want to make a gaming PC, 6850 would be cool to get but it doesnt reach the reccomended computer settings for Sleeping Dogs, I could increase the budget to £260 if it helps but the less money spent the better

Hmm, I may buy this but as I said the less the better, I'll look around I suppose, if only OcUK still sold their monitor.

You really need both if you want a half decent gaming experience, there's no point having a crappy monitor and a good gfx card. Or a good monitor and poo gfx card.

So I have the same recommendation as Papa 7850 + 23" Samsung monitor. Otherwise, i wouldn't bother and save up until you can

I'd say the monitor is first priority. But ideally you want a card as well.

You simply won't be getting good return on your money if you only buy a gfx card, since you'll be using only a fraction of its potential.

Yea I agree too :) but at the same time there's no point having a gaming rig with no gfx card ;p

Get the 7850 first and save some for a new monitor. Theres no point in having a good monitor without a card that can push games at 1080p.

I don't know as that's strictly true. Depends on the person.

Even us gamers don't use our systems for games 100% of the time. A decent 1080p monitor will be nicer for browsing, watching the odd film, photo editing, or whatever.

A 1280x1024 monitor is horrible!
