Hi all

I am looking for a AGP Graphics card at around the £60 mark.

My PC has an Athlon processor, 1 GB Memory..

Lookin for a new card too, not secondhand.

2 that have caught my eye are the ATI Radeon 9600XT, and the Sapphire Radeon X1300 256Mb DDR2 which is possibly a bit too expensive..

Any other ideas?

if you want a good card see if you can get a nvidia 7300 gt or gs i know these out preform a 6600 :D

Call me a n00b but.. its 128MB, does that not mean its worse than the 256, or am i mistaken?

Its a common misconception that more memory = faster, and its one that graphics card manufacturers take advantage of by taking cheap cards, slapping loads of memory on them and selling them overpriced to people who should know better.

The GPU is much more important in the performance of a graphics card than then amount of memory.

mem size at this core speed means quite little, only high end cards can make use of large amounts of it

its gddr3 so its faster than the gddr2 in speed
the core is also much faster than the x1300.

well after a quick search it would appear that a 7300 agp is only talked about on the net and is not yet released, but if i were you i would consider waiting as there have been some very good preformance from the gddr3 veriants

I dont have PCI-Express socket..

Yeah I think i might stretch to £70 in that case, but has anyone got any other suggestions? Any others with GDDR3 at similar price then or no?

I'm good with most computer specs, but Graphics cards baffle me.

Theres a 256MB Version of the Sapphire ATI Radeon X700 Pro 128MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (GX-107-SP) on Ebay at the moment going cheap.. am I allowed to post the link so someone can look at it for me and tell me if its better?

Leadtek Winfast Geforce 6600GT 128MB Ddr3 AGP Dvi-i Tv-out Retail looks meaty and nice too.. its about £90 though.

Would you suggest i get that over the Sapphire?
