Graphics card advice please

Hi,
Would very much appreciate some advice. I have just received and installed a Gainsward Bliss GTS 8800 into Pentium D 3.4 X 2, 320gb SATA HD, 2GB RAM. 19 Inch TFT, Audigy 4. The GTS was replacing a Geforce 6600. Trying to get decent FPS on Flight Simulator 10. Installation went fine and every indication was that system and card were perfectly happy together and no problems. Latest Drivers installed. Unfortunately, no difference whatsoever between pre and post installation of the GTS. GTS now in its box to be returned.
What to do?? Any Advice?

Your CPU is most likely bottlenecking the card

Please bear with me.From what I have been reading on the net Flight Simulator will in effect only use one CPU when Dual and Dual Core installed. So I am presenting a CPU of 3.4, the other CPU is basically doing nothing. So when you say bottlenecking are you saying that my CPU is not up to the job?

Yes he is. The P4's were never much good for gaming. Try clocking it.
