Graphics card advice please

My specs are ASUS motherboard M4A78
1. T . sata hard drive
4gig corsair xms2 memory
AMD phenom X2 11 black edition cpu
samsung dvd drive
OCZ StealthXStream 2 700W Power Supply
win.xp
I would like to upgrade my graphics card which is a Sapphire Ati Radeon
HD4890

What would be a good choice to see a real difference from my HD4890,
or would CPU upgrade be better? I use pc only for gaming .Budget about £200. Cheers.

That should be a nice upgrade

You should get 20+ FPS increase depending on the game

The Nvidia 480s would be a shout, I think your PSU should handle one of those but they've gone up in price LOADS!!

EDIT: Yeah CPU...forgot about that. If you do the CPU + GFX upgrade then Cleeeecooo's suggestion is as good as any imo

But obviously, CPU would be a bottleneck a lot of the time. Have you got one that unlocks to a quad core? IIRC, some duals unlock to quads

If you take my suggestion, you can do both! It stays within your £200 budget and the 5850 is still an amazing graphics card. Instead of a 5850, you could get THIS

With a CPU, that will go over budget but you can always sell your old stuff for over £50.

Just saw on another site that it might be a bit pointless upgrading whilst I only have windows xp,as I wouldnt see much improvement unless I got win.7 I would appreciate any comments.
