Graphics Card advice

Hi all,

I'm new to overclockers and in need of advice. I have a Packard Bell iMedia it has a Intel Core i3 processor, 3gb of ram, a Intel HD integrated graphics card and a 400GB HDD. I was wondering would just upgrading the graphics card allow me to play the last 1 or twos games with a decent frame rate and graphics? If, so what graphics card for say £60 or below?

Thanks in advance.:)

I don't mean the latest games I mean anything upto last years games? Can I find out the wattage of my PSU without opening the case of my pc?

Not sure - just yank the side off and read the sticker.

Also, compare your case to the dimensions of graphics cards - I've got a feeling it might not fit so easily.

What screen resolution do you use? In any case, you should be able to get a decent graphic card in the £60-80 price range, maybe cheaper. Something like (from weakest to best) Nividia 9800GT, Radeon 4770, Radeon 4850.

If you're used to integrated graphics, cards like those above will make a massive improvement. You will be able to run all modern games except any requiring DX11 (there's only one that I cant think of so far - usually modern games give extra graphical features with DX11, but still work on older DX9 hardware). You won't be able to run many games at their maximum settings, but many games will still look very good and play well enough.
