Im looking to purchase a new graphics card to replace my current Evga GTX 570, im looking at getting a card that will last me for some time. I currently dont have a budget however im not looking to spend x amount of money for a titanx, my idea was around the GTX 780 however i currently am only using one screen and running games at 1080p. Help plox!

Hi,

It would help if we knew the rig it was going in? so we can help avoid bottlenecks.

I had a 570 a while back and replaced it with a 670, i saw my FPS nearly double, i was quite surprised.

Sorry,

My current set up is:

Motherboard: P6T Deluxe V2

Ram: OCZ DDR3 PC3-10666 Gold x3 (2GB each)

GPU: GTX 570

CPU: Intel Core i7-920 Processor 8M Cache, 2.66 GHz.

PSU: 1250w PSU

Case: Haf x

780 is a really decent choice and it just works. The classi is a really awesome card. Can get mine to near enough 1400 MHz core clocks on water and it isn't even a super clocker. At 1080p, a single 780 will last a good while. I'd also recommend the MSI oc, EVGA superclock and gigabyte windforce.

If you are going to overclock your i7 920 to 4.00GHz or above, go for either the 290 or GTX780 depending on your preference and the amount of money you wish to spend; CPU at stock clock, I would say just go for either a 280 or 280x.

I was kind of thinking of hitting up a couple of 770's instead of a 780 but i could later upgrade to having the 780 in SLI mode

I wouldn't recommend considering the GTX770 2GB especially if you are considering going for multi-card. You will get yourself into the situation of having enough GPU grunt, but enough vram to crank up the AA settings.

Just go for either the 290 4GB/GTX780 3GB/290x 4GB depending on how much you want to spend and what you prefer.
