Hi All,

I am in dire need of upgrading my pc but my graphics is prob whats restricitng me the most, i cannot find any updated for it and i only have DX10, 2 games i have but cant play require DX11 so i only get a black screen when i launch them,

TW Warhammer 2, i can play TW Warhammer 1 on low settings,
Warhammer Battlefleet Gothic Armarda 1, not even tried 2!

I currently have an ATI Radeon HD4800 series card (I know dont hit me its super old!) What can i go for to get those games running but in a very cost effective way I dont have much free money having 2 wonderful kids and a stay at home money taking most of my earnings!

Do you need to know what else I have in the tower?

Thanks in advance all advice welcome!

Well, what kind budget you have and what are other parts?

Graphics card can be kept over other part upgrades, so it getting bottlenecked by other parts wouldn't be permanently lost money.
But paying for performance which wouln't be used for many years still isn't cost effective.

Well let's assume that you system is either AMD FX or Core i Series one of the first models, then GTX 1060, GTX 1660 should be your top choice with actually maxing out these cards. Anything faster would be just a waste and would require CPU/MOBO/RAM upgrade first to benefit.

AMD Athlon II X2 245 Processor 2.90ghz, 4 gig of ram, HD Radeon 4800 series graphics card, windows 10 pro 64bit is what i can remember without being infront of the pc im afraid,

I would see whats the motherboard on that thing, and maybe if supports Phenom II X6 1100T or similar chip, if you could stick on that quad core on there maybe not everything is lost. Second hand of course, and I would try to find some second hand ram stick at least 2x4gb.

If you upgrade at least that than it might be decent enough for 1060 6GB, that goes for around 160-170 gbp at the moment.

That's not the course I would take, but that's one of yours.
