Hi guys, so currently the set up I'm running is

6x Phenom 1055T / 16gb RAM / 7200rpm 2tb hdd / Radeon 5850 HD / 27" monitor 1080p

I've noticed a little slow down this year when playing games, such as BF3. What would you say the weak link is in my system? Currently I'm thinking a graphics card upgrade and I would be good with this system for another 2 years.

Just to bear in mind, I'm also really wanting to play Company of Heroes 2 / Rome total war 2 2013 and I want them to run like butter..hopefully.

I've been browsing OCuK store, I have very much enjoyed using my 5850, so I was thinking of upgrading to the 7850. However 7900 series receives 3 free games, all of which I haven't played and would love to.

TL;DR

1. Would I see a massive difference choosing a 7950 over a 7850 and would this be worth it?
2. From my current set up, is my graphics card the weak link or should I be looking to upgrade something else?

Welcome. :)

Is your cpu overclocked? If not, try and aim for at least a clock speed of 3.6ghz.

1. Yes, enough to warrant the price difference.

2. Yes, though I would consider an SSD for the next purchase.

Bear in mind that AMD have released the 12.11 drivers, so you'll see even more of gap between the two :

Good card, getting good comments but you wanted advice and get one post and you are buying a card. Get some more 'advice' its free. My tuppence worth is this though I would be looking to get it at least £20 cheaper. Its cool, quiet and overclocks well.:)

It's not worth £33 over the HIS IceQ.
