Graphics Card and PSU Compatibility Issue *Help Required*

Hi folks. I'm quite new to the wonderful world of PC hardware and I've just bought a new Graphics card and Power Supply to upgrade my current machine.

I think I may have made a mistake, however, as while looking up some more info on the card and I ordered (from OCUK of course) I noticed that it said it required 2 6-pin PEG power connectors. The thing is I don't know if the new power supply has 2 6-pin PEG power connectors.

As I said this is my first, perhaps ill-advised, dip into the world of PC components and while I know a fair bit about computers (I have a degree in IT management) I know little about electronics.

The components are in the post (probably held up by snow) so I haven't actually seen them yet to check. I'd like to sort this out ASAP so I can enjoy my new upgrades.

I know I'm a fool, but is it because I'm worrying over nothing, or have I bought the wrong parts?

I'd REALLY appreciate any help or advice. If I have bought the wrong PSU is there a way I can fix it (some sort of adapter)? If I'm ok with what I have then feel free to point and laugh at the idiot.

*Phew* You sir, have taken a load off my mind. I'm sure something will go wrong, but I'm glad I won't run out of cables like a kid at Christmas when he realises what "Batteries not Included" means.

If putting together your own PC didn't have these newbie moments then all then all the fine people at Dell and Alienware would be out of a job.

EDIT: Looking elsewhere to see exactly what comes bundled in the box it seems it also comes with a DVI/VGA adapter which I went out and bought the other day. So that's another £4 wasted plus the cost of a cup of tea and a cheese pasty since it was freezing down the shops. That'll teach me to do my homework.

we have all kind of moments specially if you build your first pc that is why we have this forums or other forums. it is much better then going to other 3rd party companys and paying them for easily fixed problems.
