Graphics card bust?

This may seem a bit of a no-brainer but do you think my graphics card is buggered? The issue I have is that when a 3D game is running I sometimes get missing textures or peculiar "spikes" popping out of polygons. Also, I had an issue with the dialogue boxes in nvidia control panel whilst alt-tabbed out of WoW.

Lastly it did this:

Thing is that after a reboot it was fine.

It happens very rarely (maybe once every 3 days or so) and after a reboot it seems fine.

I've tried various drivers, updated the mobo BIOS and drivers and taken the side of the case off and directed a fan at it (to try and rule out heat issues). The card does not feel hot to the touch. The card will loop 3DMark06 absolutely fine.

Any ideas? I'm loathe to send it back to OCuK as the fault is so intermittent that I'm concerned that it will just get sent back and I'll get charged for it.

Temperature doesn't seem to be getting above the mid 50s centigrade.

The card did it again just now. As soon as Worl of Warcraft left the loading screen (where I guess it jumps into 3D mode) it was orange diagonal stripes and I had to reboot. As soon as I did all was OK.

Intermittent faults are so annoying. Gonna run 3DMark06 and allow GPU-Z to record temperatures.

No OC other than the one it ships with. Shoulda said that it a BFG 9800GTX+ OC jobbie.

It's now corrupted 3 times this evening and it's apparently not heat related as it didn't get above 58 degrees in a 3dMark run. I'll have to drop it off at OcUK I guess. No games over Xmas for me.

If it's faulty, it's faulty. :(

Your best to get it looked as it's unlikely to cure itself.

Have you completely removed your drivers using driver cleaner software and starting from scratch?

You could also try something dramatic like reinstalling your operating system but realistically you need to let them have a look at it.

Guess you're right. Now for a very cheap PCIe card that'll run WoW over Xmas. Looks like 20 quid for an 8400 GS. :o

Edit: It's a BFG 9800GTX+ OC.

And no, the game is running in windowed mode.

has it always done this with you current graphics card ? since lich king was released ?

apart from trying drivers from maybe 4-5 months ago and look on the wow site to see if anyone has a similar issue
you appear to have covered most bases though :/

I've done everything I can think of. The previous card (an 8800GT) was fine in the same setup. All I changed was the card when I built the girlfriend a new PC.

I guess I was wondering if the piccie above look symptomatic of anything in particular. It'll go back to OCuK. I just hope it buggers up while they're testing it.
