Hi,
Right to start off, im not very technical, so be patient :).

I got a Dell XPS 600 aprox just over a year ago, i cant seem to find any info on what motherboard i have( Any info on how to find out would be appreciated!) but i would like to get a new graphics card, i currently have a Nvidia Geforce 7900GS, (pci maybe pci-e, not sure :P). The card i m looking to get is http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-048-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=356
or another similar 9600gt, just wondering will this be compatible with my motherboard as i have heard that i may need a power supply, which i have no idea if i have, also i saw on another site that a different model needs a PCI-E x 16 slot, do i have that? Do i need it? So im rather confused at the moment.

Although i have no actual info on my motherboard i have found a photo which is the same as what mine has
http://images.tomshardware.com/2005/11/23/pc_interfaces_101/pcie_16_1.jpg (you may need to copy and paste into browser manually, didnt work for me)
I have this with another slot above which my graphics card is currently in, not sure what that one is.
Just ask for any other info you need of my PC or whatever and ill try to find it out ;)
So any info would be very useful as i am a bit of a newbie at this stuff :).

P.S I saw this in the sale category, but it is b-class, what does this mean? Is it damaged?

Thanks aDzii :D

Welcome to the forums.:)

The 9600 GT will fit fine, as you do have a PCI-E 16x slot which it needs (its the same slot type as the 7900 GS you have in there), and judging by the Pic, you have 2x of those slots, as the top slot in the Pic (the PCI-E 16x) is black, which is normally indicative of a secondary slot (so you can run 2x cards in SLi), the Primary slot (which your 7900 GS will be in) is normally blue, also your Power Supply should be able to power it as its 650w, if its this XPS here ive just found. :-

Also i wouldn't get that 320mb GTS from the B-Grade, as the 9600 GT is a lot faster, and you need more than 320mb of memory on a card these days anyway.
