Wonder if any of you smart people can solve this problem for me.

The fans on my gigabyte 480gtx se became damaged. Cause there was damage to the card my warrenty became void so rather then having a expensive paper weight i decided to get a after market cooler.

I installed the cooler fine but theres one problem the fans on the new cooler are 4 pin but the socket on my card is for 5 pin. i pluged he 4 pin into the 5 pin one anyways and it wouldnt work even though it fitted fine.

So has any one got any suggestions what i can do to get the fans working.

what coolers is it? seems a bit strange that

EDIT the stock cooler for a gtx 480 (not se) is 4 pin have one right infront of me

i cant imagine them using a different fan header from a standard to a SE

The old cooler that broke was gigabytes own design no idea why they used a 5 pin header on the se gonna make replacing the cooler a nighmare all cards and coolers i know use 4 pin. Its really annoying when the cooler i bought said it suppored 480 gtx i just assumed it would work. Seems like gigabyte modded the card a fair bit from the normal design.

I have contacted gigabyte tech support in the hope they can send me a cooler from a bunk card.

Is there any fan controllers or adparters i can get that will suppor my new 4 pin cooler.
