Graphics card crashing as soon as stressed - GPU or PSU?

I've had an Arctic Storm 1080ti for ~2 years from new. It's a factory watercooled min-itx card. It has never shown any issues until last week when it just started crashing. They symptoms are the monitor (3440x1440 Predator X34P) loses signal as soon as 3D starts and you can hear the Windows sounds that suggests it's throwing up a dialog saying 'device' lost or something similar. I then have to do a hard shutdown to get signal back. The problem persists even when underclocked.

Now, the PSU is a 600W Corsair SFX which is pushing it for the system and while it's been fine for years I wonder if it's just been over-exerted and can no longer manage the power draw, particularly since I upgraded to ultra-wide a month ago.

I've seen plenty of GPU crashes before but nothing that completely cuts the video signal and I've never had a GPU just spontaneously die after years of trouble-free use. So what do we think is the most likely culprit - PSU or GPU? Thanks :)

Edit: I should add that normally I could just test a different PSU but given lockdown that's impossible.

i think its a PSU issue you have. PSU might have blown
try stressing everything out on the system apart from the GPU and see if the same issue presists.

psu could also have blow inside a transistor as most psu`s have primery and secondery one can blow and still work but would throw a fit if it was under load.

+ what have you got to loose... graphics card is way more expensive to replace, and + you can always send PSU back if its not the issue.

Can you run it on Intel GPU and stress test system like as said above. I bought a PSU tester from Maplins for £9.99 about 15 years ago its one of those use once purchases that you just put away and forget but comes in damn handy for issues like this. Suggest you get one they are dirt cheap now. Can save you money and heartache too. Everyone should have one.

No way causing PSU wattage shutdown. Unless it's actually faulty.

What's rest of your system?

My system in Sig draws 510watts peak max from the wall. Even if you drew 650watts a capable PSU can pump out the power. You wouldn't want to do it on purpose but it's well known good units have a reserve.

It's good for 650watts most likely. That's a heck of a power draw.

I've never had it but plenty of people come on here all the time with GPUs that have died.
