Recently my 6600GT started playing up, at first it was getting really hot (70c) even though the fan was working perfectly. Then a day or two ago i started seeing odd artifacts when windows booted up, lines going down the screen and for a few seconds loads of the letter e covering the entire screen which would dissapear when the pc started to load windows. Now it restarts after trying to load windows for a bit and you can hardly make out any of the boot up screens at all, it just looks a mess :( I tried it on another machine and while you can run windows with it, it still has loads of weird artifacts and when i tried to install the nvidia drivers it said there was no nvidia card in the pc

So is my card dead? :( My entire pc has been playing up recently (slight stuttering from time to time with audio/video and i get an error message from my wireless network card everytime i boot up my pc (though it still works). Do you think this has anything to do with it?

Have you overclocked anything, and if so, have you tried returning it to it's defaults?

There was a post on the new 7950 thread, saying how the inner card reached temps of 90c, and when I commented how hot that was, someone said that thats nothing, as their GPU reached temps of 115c -

I may be wrong, but if indeed your GPU is at fault, then the artefacts may well be caused by the video cards memory struggling.

Sounds like the memory on your card is borked mate. Sounds like its RMA time 'm afraid.
