graphics card disappearing from system?

Hi Peeps,

I've been having a crashing issue when playing COD MW2 for a while now... and its got worse.

I changed My nvidia 9800 GTX KO card from 1 PCI-E slot to the other, and this seemed to fix the problem for about 2 weeks but its re-appeared today, worse than ever.

As soon as I get in a game, the graphics card crashes out.. monitor turns off, and fans go mad on the card... But in the last instance it just did it in windows too! (only had this happen once through).

I changed my 9800 card for another 9800 card (I got 2 of them but only use 1).... and I know the other one is good because it was in another computer working fine... same problem with this card.

I looked into the system event logger and found THIS....

"The device 'NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+' (PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0612&SUBSYS_C8753842&REV_A2\6&20f9c1f5&0&00000018) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal."

Why on earth would this happen?

I dont know whether I have a faulty motherboard? faulty CPU? virus??

Someone please help me here as its doing my head in.

ps once I turn computer off, I have to wait about 10 seconds before switching it back on again, otherwise the fans just keep going mad, and no visuals. If I wait 10 secs, it loads windows fine.

Hi,

Not a driver issue, I have already reinstalled drivers + made sure they're upto date...

Just done it in windows again... turned comp off, back on it got to the post screen where I can enter BIOS, then It went again... black screen, fans etc.

Changed the PCI-E slot AGAIN and it seems to work for now... but I know its gonna come back.. really annoying me now.
