Hi all I'm not that good with computers though I know a lot about the various parts I do have a decent computer Last year I bought a Radeon sapphire RX480 Nitro + OC Would it be advisable to change it As I'm going to start playing COD ww1 & ww2 games If you would like to know the specs I can tell you most Thank you David

you need to post what res you want to play at

1080
1440
4k

you will get better advice if you do.

tbh if you want to go to the next level its going to be a 1070gtx or vega56.

1060 or rx580 are not going to be a real step up.

I have a 480. Played COD WW 2 fine at 1920x1200 everything pretty much maxed out.

So don't see the need to change.

Hi thank you for your replies I'm a silver surfer trying to catch up Ok I would like to play 1440 Ive replaced my monitor with a Rog Strix AV27G Ive not played a game since Battlefield 11 Which is the best 1 ive ever played Destroyed by cheats I do not know what to expect in games nowadays So that's why I'm here between you You must have some brill knowledge Anyway ive got i7-7700K chip 16gb of DDR4 Ripjaws 3000 memory Asrock Fatality Z270 K6 motherboardalso a Samsung Evo 950 Hard drive I'm not as fast as I used to be But if I can get a good rig I might be able to be as good as someone whos faster People say about fps Well does it lessen with a monitor that's playing at say 1080 ? You see I wouldnt even know how to changes the resolutions or overclock If I could go the way of SLI what other cards could I use ? Thank you

That's a good rig I'd leave it as it is. SLI/Crossfire isn't worth it.
If you've got money to spend maybe get a AVR and speakers to upgrade the sound system?

Oh and use full stop.

When you set resolution in Windows, make sure it's the native resolution of the monitor. And do the same for games.

A AVR is a Audio Visual Amplifier. If you are using crappy little PC speakers it's worthwhile getting proper speakers.

How do I set the resolution on the monitor Told you I'm crap . My speakers are Logitech 5 speaker system , with a subwoofer . What about headphones/headsets ?

Set desktop resolution to that, if it's not already. In every game go into video settings and change resolution to native resolution of the screen. You will need to do this for every game.

Right click on windows desktop, select screen resolution.

You'd be wise to leave stuff alone unless there's a particular problem you need to solve.
I.e. if your games work fine, do nothing.
At least until you know what you're doing.

Thank you for your advice. But how am I going to learn if I don't try . I thought this was the kinda site where there were a lot of knowledgeable people that could point me in the right direction . I think we all learn by making mistakes . Coming on here &

asking , I thought I would limit mine. Maybe I'm wrong
